Strategic marketing partner you can depend on every time.
We help teams navigate complex marketing challenges with clarity, accountability, and a system that actually works.
When marketing feels busy, but progress feels slow
Most teams don’t struggle because they lack effort or ideas. They struggle because strategy, design, and execution aren’t aligned — and no one owns the full picture. We help organizations struggling with challenges like these:
Your marketing feels active, but not effective.
There’s no shortage of work getting done, but it’s hard to tell what’s actually moving the needle. Effort is high, clarity is low, and progress feels slower than it should.
Things don’t feel as aligned as they should.
You have goals and priorities, but day-to-day work doesn’t always line up. Decisions get made in isolation, and it’s difficult to feel confident that everything is moving in the same direction.
Your website doesn’t feel like “you” anymore.
The business has evolved, but the site hasn’t kept pace. Messaging feels off, the experience feels dated, and it no longer reflects the company you are — or the audience you want to attract.
The pressure to get this right keeps rising.
Whether you’re reporting to leadership or guiding the business forward, the stakes feel higher. Without a clear system to rely on, every decision carries more weight than it should.
What guides our work, and why it matters to you
Clarity over chaos
Marketing works best when priorities are clear. That means fewer distractions, better decisions, and teams that know exactly what they’re working toward.
Strategy before execution
Tactics without direction waste time and budget. We start with strategy so every effort has a purpose — and a way to measure success.
One accountable partner
Managing disconnected specialists slows everything down. We bring strategy, design, and execution together so you’re not stitching pieces into a system yourself.
Human judgment, smart tools
AI and automation can accelerate good strategy — but they can’t replace it. We use modern tools thoughtfully, without sacrificing quality, nuance, or trust.
A true partnership, not a vendor relationship
You’ll always know what’s happening — and why
We communicate clearly and consistently, explaining not just what we’re doing, but the reasoning behind it. That means fewer surprises, better alignment, and decisions you can confidently stand behind internally.
We take ownership, not just direction
We don’t wait to be told what to do. We bring perspective, ideas, and recommendations — and we’re comfortable taking responsibility for moving things forward instead of pushing decisions back onto your team.
You’ll get honest feedback, even when it’s uncomfortable
If something isn’t working, isn’t necessary, or doesn’t serve your goals, we’ll say so. We believe trust is built through transparency, not agreement for the sake of agreement.
Strategy and execution stay connected
The people thinking through the strategy are closely involved in the execution. That keeps work aligned, reduces rework, and ensures decisions aren’t lost between planning and implementation.

How it started (and why it changed.)
Three Seven didn’t start as a marketing agency. We began as a web design studio, building thoughtful websites for growing organizations. Over time, a clear pattern emerged.
Clients weren’t just asking for better sites — they wanted to know why those sites weren’t generating leads, why messaging felt unclear, and why marketing efforts weren’t driving real outcomes. Design mattered, but it wasn’t enough.
As our work evolved, we expanded into strategy, messaging, demand generation, and performance. Not to add services, but because solving the real problem required a more connected approach. Web design became the foundation — not the finish line.
So… why are you called “Three Seven?”
For almost 20 years, we operated as 3.7 Designs. The name 3.7 comes from chaos theory — specifically the idea behind the butterfly effect, where small inputs can create disproportionately large outcomes over time.
In simple terms, it’s the idea that complex systems don’t change because of one big moment. They change because of a series of small decisions, made consistently, that compound.
The number itself references the logistic map used in chaos theory:
xₙ₊₁ = r · xₙ (1 − xₙ)
When the variable r approaches 3.7, the system enters a state where tiny changes can dramatically alter the outcome.
Why we’re now called Three Seven
As our work evolved beyond design into broader marketing systems, we transitioned from 3.7 Designs to Three Seven.
The name still points to the same idea — that clarity, structure, and intentional decisions shape outcomes — but it better reflects the role we play today as a strategic marketing partner, not just a design studio.
The shift wasn’t about abandoning the idea behind 3.7. It was about making room for the full scope of the work.

Rooted in the Midwest, built to work anywhere
Three Seven was founded in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and many of our team members are still based across the Midwest. That background has shaped how we work — practical, thoughtful, and grounded — without the ego or flash that often comes with agency culture elsewhere.
At the same time, we’re a fully remote team, working with clients across the country. Being remote allows us to stay flexible, collaborate closely, and bring together the right expertise regardless of location — without losing the values that come from where we started.
